I am a lung cancer medical oncologist, and it is an unrecognized, but well documented fact, that the particles in air pollution (PM2.5) are carcinogenic. The research around the link between air pollution, PM2.5 and lung cancer is robust. Numerous epidemiological studies have shown that people living in highly polluted areas are more likely to die of lung cancer than those who do not. In fact, about 14% of all lung cancers are caused by PM2.5
Lung cancer is a deadly disease - a disease you do not want to get. Please keep Virginia in RGGI.
