Long time Richmond cyclist here. The bank street connection is a critical piece of bike infrastructure. It's already made difficult for cyclists by giant concrete balls and gates (which should be removed and replaced with something that works better for cyclists). This is the only way I feel safe getting from down town to the Franklin street bike line. Going up ninth street from main is a terrifying and difficult experience that will keep many people from cycling around Richmond and lead them to use traffic-causing vehicles instead. Please leave bank street open 24/7 for cyclists and pedestrians or come of with an equivalent alternate route that is protected for cyclists.
