| Description | This regulation establishes the conditions and standards that must be met before certain subdivision streets constructed by entities other than VDOT will be accepted into the state secondary system for maintenance by VDOT. Proposed developments that include roads to be accepted into the secondary system and that were initially received by VDOT prior to July 1, 2009 may be grandfathered under these requirements. |

- Serving as a reference resource for parties involved in the planning, design, development, and regulation of residential, commercial, and industrial subdivisions. - Establishing the minimum criteria for the addition of subdivision streets as a part of Virginia’s secondary system of state highways. - Protecting the public’s health, safety, and welfare with the least possible cost and intrusiveness to the citizens of the Commonwealth. - Providing a clearly written and understandable regulation. |
