General Notice: Draft Virginia Floodplain Management Standards for State-Owned Property

Purpose of Notice: The Department of Conservation and Recreation is accepting public comment to establish the Virginia Floodplain Management Standards as required by the Code of Virginia § 10.1-603, which Governor Youngkin signed on April 12, 2023.
After reviewing public comments and making any necessary and appropriate amendments to the draft, DCR will finalize the Virginia Floodplain Management Standards no later than October 31, 2023. Once finalized, the Standards will inform the development activities on state-owned property designated as flood-prone areas.
