On 11/19/2015 the board requested that this
emergency stage be extended until 7/1/2016.
Reason for Extension:
The Department of Medical Assistance Services is requesting that this emergency regulation be extended to allow DMAS to continue enforcing the legislative mandate, as set out in Chapter 806, Item 307.CCC of the 2013 Acts of the Assembly, to reimburse residential treatment centers (RTCs) and freestanding psychiatric hospitals (FPHs) separately from the normal per-diem rate for “services provided under arrangement” (including professional, pharmacy, and other services) furnished to Medicaid members. In order to be reimbursed separately, these services must be in the plan of care developed by the RTC/FPH and must be arranged by the RTC/FPH. As is clear from the Town Hall entry for this project, there have been significant delays in the review of the proposed stage of this package. This regulation is essential to allow DMAS to comply with CMS rules in this area.
This emergency extension request was approved by the Governor's office on 12/17/2015.
