Emergency Extension Request
2011 Mental Health Services Program Changes for Appropriate Utilization & Provider Qualifications

On 6/11/2012 the board requested that this emergency stage be extended until 1/16/2013.

Reason for Extension:
The Department of Medical Assistance Services is requesting this emergency regulation be extended until 1/16/2013 for the following reason: This emergency regulation is due to expire July 17, 2012. This extension is required in order for DMAS to continue enforcing the legislative mandate, as set out in Chapter 890, Item 297 YY of the 2011 Acts of the Assembly that implements the requirement to review Intensive In-Home services and Community Mental Health services in order to ensure appropriate utilization and cost efficiency. As clear from the Town Hall entry for this project, there have been significant delays in the review of this package as details of the content of the regulatory requirements have been worked out between the Office of the Attorney General and the Department. This package is essential to curtailing loss of tax dollars through pervasive provider fraud and questionable practices in community mental health services. Board: Board of Medical Assistance Servic
