emergency stage be extended until 12/31/2011.
Reason for Extension:
The Department of Medical Assistance Services is requesting this emergency regulation be extended until 12/31/2011 for the following reason:
DMAS is requesting the Governor's approval of its request to extend its emergency regulation entitled Mental Health Services Program Changes to Ensure Appropriate Utilization (12 VAC 30-50-130, 12 VAC 30-60-61, and 12 VAC 30-60-143) (TH 3288/5548). This emergency regulation is due to expire June 30, 2011. This extension is required in order for DMAS to continue enforcing the legislative mandate, as set out in Chapter 874, Item 297 YY of the 2010 Acts of Assembly, while DMAS completes the APA process to make these changes final. This package implements the requirement to review Intensive In-Home services and Community Mental Health services in order to ensure appropriate utilization and cost efficiency.
