I fully support the proposed initiative to add ALD to the newborn screening panel.  I am an expectant mother and support my newborn being screened for any and every condition possible.  I would love for my newborn to be screened for ALD, as early detection is key.  I have a close friend who was diagnosed with ALD later in life and it would have helped her tremendously, should she have found out sooner.  Please pass this proposal to benefit all Virginians.
