As an American having grown up in Brazil, it is astounding to see the pernicious policies being proposed by VDOE. You really want to experiment on our children with socialism? Name one society where socialism or its idealistic conclusion, communism, ended well?

We need to get back to teaching our kids actual history and giving them critical thinking skills. VDOE, you need to go back to school! I recommend you try a co-op or homeschool to learn a thing or two.
