In Favor of Protections

In the City of Virginia Beach, extended school year (ESY) started last Monday for students with disabilities to either intervene before summer slide sets in or assist students who need extra help before being promoted to the next grade. This is summer school f(all intents and purposes) and it takes place IN PERSON. I work with preschoolers; I want to pull the "morally responsible" argument and say that every adult who interacts with these students (and any student across the Commonwealth) should both have to wear PPE and not worry about unclear guidelines that put self-righteous adults in a position where they feel as though the rules don't apply to them. For the benefit of ours and our students' health, we need to maintain these guidelines because the virus is far from gone.

Thank you.
