Cloth/ Paper masks not respiratory protectants

”Surgical masks/face coverings are not designed for use as particulate respirators and do not provide as much protection as an N-95 respirator. Most surgical masks do not effectively filter small particles from air and do not prevent leakage around the edge of the mask when the user inhales”Masks not worn properly, mask compromised, dirty ill fitting give a false sense of security. You must provide written evidence that mask prevent the spread of COVID 19. Masks may provide barrier protection against droplets that are considered to be the primary route of transmission. However, surgical masks may not adequately protect against aerosol or airborne particles, primarily because they do not effectively filter small particles from the air, they allow leakage around the mask, and they cannot be fit tested.

If mandated I will be reporting everyone not correctly wearing so called face masks to the VDH.
