A woman’s health is precious and should be protected regardless of what procedure is being carried out on her body. In the case of abortion, the same standards of hygiene and sanitation ought to apply to a clinic as to another medical facility regulated by the Department of Public Health or, for example, the Joint Commission that sets standards for hospitals of repute. Why should women be subjected to substandard health care JUST because she’s having an abortion? It does cost money to meet standards, but that should not deter their implementation.
