Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the updates to the Statewide Fire Prevention Code. My name is CPT William Ashley and I am speaking for the Virginia Beach Fire Department. As an advocate for the safety of all Virginians, I would like to add my name to the comments made by the Virginia Beach Fire Department.

I do not support the current changes to the State Fire Prevention Code.  In my humble opinion, these changes weaken the code and will place lives in danger...
