I strongly support this petition. I have been a technician by all standards for the last 12 years. I was taught on the job, and while I have a Bachelors degree, and enough knowledge to complete the NAVTA, but that is unfortuantely not an option unless you have completed actual school time. I would be completely remiss if there was a patient on the table that I wasn't able to legally help due to not being a LVT. I have placed thousands of catheters over my career, and according to many veterinarians I've worked with over the years, they would rather a well trained "tech" whether licensed or unlicensed, place catheters as the vets don't have nearly the amount of practive I've had over my career.
