I was introduced to dry needling two years ago. As a collegiate athlete I had no injuries. After leaving the college scene I began to lift heavy and swim more. I injured my back slightly and had no desire to get surgery to aid my bulging disc. Time after time I went to PT and had dry needling done with no real change. However. I went to a PT Katie Bain at VSFTC and it was like night and day. Getting needling from Katie literally helped me swim the English Channel. Training swimming is friendly on the back but flip turns are a source of inflammation and irritation. After every session of needling my entire leg hip groin area was brand new. This treatment still is the only relief I get for my back aches and hip tightness not even a cortisone shot helped. .
