Dry needling is a very important aspect of the field of physical therapy. I am a strong advocate of its use. Entry-level physical therapists aquire the vast majority of the skills needed to perform this intervention in school and obtain the remaining education through a certification course. This ensures that as the musculoskeletal professionals, physical therapists can admminister the treatment very safely and effectively. I feel confident that dry needling will continue to play a pivotal role in the ability of physical therapists to treat the patients as effectively as possible.
