There is no reason this petition should not pass. National Forests already allow the carrying of concealed weapons, and a Virginia citizen is free to carry (concealed or openly) a weapon just about anywhere else in the state - courthouses and schools being two of the exceptions.
There is no reason to make the Virginia citizen suffer under the thumb of the law more than they already have to - overzealous gun laws make legal gun ownership and self-defense difficult enough as it is. Please follow the spirit of the General Assembly, which has pre-empted all localities from enacting gun laws. The Virginia Forest Service should be subject to the same pre-emptions.
