I am a strong believer in the second amendment and that guns save lives. Laws, in general, and particularly gun laws are only obeyed by law abiding citizens. A law forbidding the possession of guns in a state forest only ensures that citizens who obey laws will be disarmed. Criminals, by definition, do not obey laws and certainly would not respect this one. Possessing a gun in a forest is no different, than possessing one walking or driving a public street, which thousands of Virginians do lawfully each and every day. What is the difference?
Do what is right and approve this measure.
