While VA has a good system in place with records being released yearly, it can be improved. Greater transparency and better availability of records can help ensure that the "right" thing is done for the animals. No one is looking to second guess shelters or their vets who dutifully promote the welfare of the animals in their care. Records are already electronic, and adding a field or two does not constitute a radical change to the current system.
More open and detailed records will help avoid travesties such as the sham PETA "shelter" in Norfolk. Please remove PETA's access to euthanasia drugs and get HB 1381 signed by our Governor.
