The current burdensome regulations will close women’s health centers, restricting access to the comprehensive health care these centers provide, including cancer screenings and birth control, as well as abortion. I urge the Commissioner and Board of Health to rewrite these politicized restrictions so that they rely on evidence-based medicine. Rather than allowing political or ideologic forces to dictate medical care, regulatory action should be based on sound principles of public health and sound scientific data. As an RN for over 40 years, I can tell you that these regulations are not medically sound or based on true health care concerns. If that were the case, many other procedures would also require such measures. Thank you.
