Board of Health,
I am a Physician and Pediatrician who is concerned that the Board of Health will not enforce the will of the General Assembly in an attempt to placate a vocal group of health care providers who have a financial interest in providing substandard care. As President Clinton had stated in the past, "abortion should be safe, legal and rare". No one is stopping abortion, which is another issue altogether. It is incumbant upon the Board, however, to execute the law and to provide women with a safe place and clean procedure that mitigates risk to their health. I have seen botched I and Ds performed where the uterus has been perforated; heard of cases where the bowel was perforated, and where arteries were lacerated. The procedure is 100% lethal to one of the two lives that come in to the clinics. If the Board does not like the law and its provisions, it should work through the legislature to change it, not neglect its duty in enforcement. Protect womens health and dont be bullied by the Abortion industry. Scott C. Cole MD, FACP
