I understand the Board is considering changes to established safeguards for Virginias surgical facilities. If the Board relaxes any safe practice requirements at any surgical facility in Virginia, including outpatient surgical centers, abortion centers or clinics, or relevant emergency facilities, thereby increasing risks to patients served by those centers, as potential patients, we have a right to be given the reason for the Boards action to increase those safety risks. Thus, I expect any such relaxations to be accompanied by a clear statement explaining the rationale for allowing these risk increases. Ludw. Benner Jr
