Dear Members of the Board of Elections:
Everyone who is eligible to vote and is registered should be allowed to vote. Requiring a photo ID is burden enough. There is no good reason that an expired license or passport should not be permitted. This will not increase the risk of fraud, but will increase the risk of eligible voters being denied their right to vote. This is most likely to affect people who have stopped driving and have not renewed their license, and there is no reason to turn these people away.
We should be encouraging all eligible voters to vote and we should make it as easy as possible. Anything less undermines our democracy.
Thank you for protecting the right to vote.
