I  respectfully request that scaling not be included in Dental Assisting II training.  My greatest concern is for the public.  RDH's have years of education not only to learn to use our instruments but to address our patient's overall health.  It's my belief that allowing a dental assistant to "scale teeth" would not insure the appropiate care and  the overall care of the patient would be compromised.
