Any medical procedure can render a woman subject to injury and possibly death if standards of practice and medical environmental standards are maintained. MINIMALLY there should be: 1. blood draw equipment and a procedure in place for type and cross match for blood transfusion2. A "CRASH CART" with appropriate drugs, ambu bag, oxygen, cardiac monitor and defib/resuscitation capability 3. IV fluids, tubing, tourniquet, needles, etc for emergency fluid infusion 4. HOT LINE phone with the closest emergency room for advisement in case of emergency5. An extensive cleaning plan for the surgical room after a procedure.
