I understand that assistants can remove cement once a crown is cemented but that is no where as tenacious as some calculus can be. As an RDH we go through intense training so we know how to properly handle every instrument. It bothers me that some children are treated by assistants, forget allowing them to treat adults. You never know when calculus may be subgingival and most of the time there is at least some. Patients deserve properly trained professionals.
thank you
