Please pass, notice is freedom!

I am in support of advance parental notification of sensitive material

*identification of books containing sensitive material and
*providing opt-out options for students who do not wish to be present in the classroom when discussions on sensitive topics may take place.

Lake Braddock's current notice of putting 23 books in a syllabus , with no dates creates an undue burden on parents. The nature of the sexually explicit content has the potential to create harm that could be avoided with advance notification.

I take this issue very seriously and entered into my decision after much consideration and reading of full assigned texts like The Bluest Eye.
Notification is the responsible thing to do, and it aloes freedom for all.
