No Cap and No Broker Needed

Our service facilitator is vital in the service that my grandmother is getting. Placing a broker in this position just feels like there will be a quota for some person to meet with no personable time actually being given to the person in need. My family service facilitator has been amazing and actually consistently available and knowledgeable in all aspects of any needs or requests. I am sure a broker is not going to have that same care or attention to our needs, if they are even reachable at all.

As for the 56 hour cap, that is indeed unacceptable based on the amount of care an individual needs. Not to mention the pay is minimal now that providers are receiving and to reduce necessary hours seems to pose additional risks of an individual not getting what they need or sufficient care being overlooked.

Based on the number of comments placed it appears that this notice for change may not be as visible to those whom it may affect. Fortunately this was shared with me by my service facilitator and I definitely feel that with something of this magnitude, there should be a more visible way for those who could potentially be affected to have a voice. Ultimately why wasnt this mailed to those whom the decision would affect so that they could pose a comment on their own situation. Not sure if this is how its typically handled but if so, that should change also.
