Please don’t let this become the standard of care for our community.

I think of every patient as if they were a member of my own family. Many patients have no idea what they are walking into or who is providing their care. It is concerning to see patients being treated by dental assistants who may not have the education, training, or clinical qualifications to perform scaling procedures, simply because they were instructed to do so as part of their job.

Dental assistants are not dental hygienists. Please do not allow the standard of care in our community to be lowered at the expense of our patients’ safety, health, and well-being.
