Good afternoon, esteemed sirs. My name is Linda Obando, and I have been a childcare provider for eight years in Alexandria, VA. I love my job and have worked with the same families for eight years. I have cared for different generations, and I believe that anything that benefits children is welcome. EpiPen requirement is absolutely excessive. Personally, I don't have any children with allergies, so I believe that the expense of $300.00 or more would be unnecessary for my daycare. I have a MAT certification and understand all the basic regulations I must follow for any child emergency, but I am not a nurse, nor do I have the medical knowledge to administer this injection to any child. I would be putting the child at risk. With this, I want to emphasize that I do NOT agree that this should be a mandate or obligation for all childcare centers. It should be available to those who need it.
Thank you so much for thinking about our well-being every day, or at least from time to time, and for helping us do a better job each day. Children are a fundamental part of every country and family. I love my job and I love children.
