The proposed policy would introduce a significant financial burden that would need to be addressed. If implemented, we would require a minimum of eight devices each year, at an estimated cost of $290–$850 per device, in addition to ongoing replacement expenses due to their short 12–18 month shelf life. We do appreciate that the training to administer the epi-pens will be provided free of cost. Should this mandate go into effect, we hope that funding or a subsidy will be provided to also help offset the device purchase costs.
