Epinephrine available in an emergency will save lives, and I strongly support this requirement. HOWEVER, at potentially $850 per epi-pen, and multiple epi-pens required if serving a population necessitating different dosages due to weight/age range, at a time when criminal background check costs are being passed onto providers, will be extremely burdensome for smaller preschools/child care centers. Funding should be provided for this mandate to defray the cost.
