3 Reasons a Daycare Should Not Owned EpiPen
Prescription Medication: EpiPens are prescription drugs and must be assigned to a specific child. A daycare cannot legally keep or use a “generic” EpiPen for anyone.
Individual Allergy Plans: Each child with allergies must have their own doctor-approved Allergy Action Plan and their own EpiPen. Using one that doesn’t belong to the child goes against medical guidelines.
Liability Risk: Administering an EpiPen not prescribed for that child can create legal and licensing issues for the daycare, exposing the center to unnecessary liability.
