support petition

I support this petition.

It's not about hate, it's about saving women's spaces for biological women.
It's about keeping those spaces secure and private for biological women.

Support for this petition isn't saying all transwomen are predators.

However, there are predators who identify as transgender and want access to women's spaces.

One recent example in Arlington, VA:

https://www.arlnow.com/2025/01/18/charges-against-sex-offender-for-w-l-girls-locker-room-incident-prompt-statement-from-gop/

There are many other examples like that, all you need to do in order to find them is conduct a browser search.

There are claims that this petition would hurt intersex people, noted in comments like this:

https://townhall.virginia.gov/L/viewcomments.cfm?commentid=236605

However, there is a difference between intersex people and transgender people.
Intersex people are biologically different where sex-related genes cause different gender expression in the human body.

Transgender is an identity.

Intersex use of bathrooms and sports should be looked into separately and a separate petition worked out specifically for them.

However, simply identifying as a woman does not mean you should automatically get access to women's spaces or be able to play in women's sports.

There are some comments claiming there aren't that many transgender women, so the impact to women's sports would be negligible. However, if that's true then why is this petition such a big deal? If there are very few transgender women, then why is there such a big push to include them in sports for biological women?

And if there is indeed a sizeable population of transwomen who want to play sports with biological women, then why not create a league for transgender women and allow biological women to play in it if they voluntarily want to?

And if there is a large enough size population of transwomen who want to play sports and need access to women's locker rooms....then why not let them and their allies help pay for separate accommodations at schools; bathrooms and locker rooms specifically for transwomen?

If this is such a large issue, and a large population of transwomen are suffering from not having access to women's locker rooms and bathrooms, then it makes sense that it should be rather easy to raise enough money from that large population and its advocates & allies in order to build accommodations to meet the specific needs of transwomen.
