I am opposed to the petition banning transgender youth from youth sports and locker rooms.

Transgender youth have a significantly high rate of suicide not from gender identity but from bullying, rejection and discrimination.

The ability to participate in sports is a positive action to combat depression.  The mental health of young people should be of utmost importance.  Sport leagues can come up ways to even any playing field so that all can participate.  Banning transgender youth from sports discriminates against these individuals.  Sports also provide the opportunity to develop leadership and teamwork skills.
