Oppose - Trans Women are Women!

Good day,

I am appalled that this kind of a law is even being considered in Virginia, my only home. I am a cis man, born and raised in this state. However, I have many trans friends and family members. The first time someone came out to me about being trans, I was 18, and I didn't know quite what to make of it. In the intervening  two decades, however, I have learned quite a lot about the world, and I now know that trans people are who they say they are. I could cite all sorts of statistics showing how trans girls don't have a measurable advantage over their cis counterparts in sports, how trans people are more likely to be the victims of sexual assault than the perpetrators, and how trans people live longer and healthier lives when they are allowed to be their authentic selves, but what would be the point? The people who support measures such as this know those statistics  (or could at least easily find them), but they do not care about what the facts actually say. They only care about creating an other to hate. As long as you have someone to oscracize and blame, you don't have to actually find solutions to real problems. Please, for the sake of all those who want to find their own happiness, oppose this measure and all others like it.
