GOP controlled House of Representatives passed by a slim majority A Big and Ugly Bill to implement harsh work requirements for so called able bodies plus many more deep cuts to Medicaid nationwide. I do have Virginia Medicaid, and I am pleased with it. I do ask Department of Planning and Budget to start brainstorming how to keep all current Virginians on Medicaid should the Big and Ugly Bill become a law in a few months. Perhaps an increase in sales tax, or property tax, or more tax on tobacco and alcohol will be needed to keep all Virginians on Medicaid should federal funding be cut in a few months. The time to start planning is now. Should I be one in 13.7 million folks to lose Medicaid in a few months, I would be experiencing severe financial problems. The Big and Ugly House GOP Bill is a disaster and tsunami to sweep away 13.7 Americans.
