This petition seeks to limit the rights and liberties of valued community members. Such measures materialize the animus and prejudice which undergirds and drips from this petition, cloaked in faux feminism and faux science. Affirming the lives of trans people does not harm cis women, as claimed by the petitioners, but the denial of trans identity does harm trans women. Indeed, such measures harm cis women as well by eroding protections and creating the precedent for gender-based discrimination. The petition relies on the undefined term “biological male” but this concept has no basis in biology nor in law. These measures are blatantly discriminatory and regressive and should be entirely rejected.
