This petition has not been put forth, nor is it supported by, people who want to think pragmatically. What we should be focusing on is making the sports world safer for transgender youth. Anything else is fear mongering. If we're not talking about the victimization of trans youth, but rather excluding them from sports, then we're redirecting from the main issue. Stop portraying trans youth as a danger to others when in reality, trans youth experience higher rates of bullying, poor mental health outcomes, and homelessness than their peers. This red herring ("protect our girls") is detracting from the real problem. Let's validate the identities of trans youth. Let's show them that they deserve to be here and are welcome in our society. Support trans youth and oppose this petition. Thank you!
