I live in Albemarle County, and I oppose Petition 432.

This petition is not about locker rooms or the actual safety of women and girls in Virginia, and respectfully, the Board of Health even considering labeling groups of people harmful based on who they are is deeply upsetting. This petition is hateful and bigoted, and detracts from the actual public health issues facing Virginia citizens, like domestic violence, maternal health, and poverty. This petition is a political distraction rooted in discrimination, and it is the duty of the board to promote the well being of ALL Virginians. Your experience as a trans person facing discrimination in public spaces.

Priorities that the board should be focusing on include maternal health and wellness (especially access for mother of color), among other actual issues. 

Our Trans community in Virginia deserves to be protected and uplifted, not erased— this petition has nothing to do with the health of Virginians.
