I strongly oppose this petition, which seeks to further nationwide efforts to discriminate against and disenfranchise trans people, with no genuine concerns for the welfare of cis women. I am a cis woman and do not feel threatened by the existence of trans women.

No one should face discrimination because of who they are. Trans people have always existed in human society and always will. The Department of Health exists to protect the health and promote the well-being of everyone in Virginia. Any petition that seeks to erode individual rights on the basis of sex, gender, or sexual orientation should be rejected.

I would rather the Department of Health focus its resources on sexual health education and providing sexual health services to communities.
