This petition is purportedly about protecting the health and safety of the women and girls in Virginia. However, it is explicitly aimed at harming our most vulnerable: trans women and girls. 

Trans women are women, and trans girls are girls. They are significantly exposed to danger in men's spaces just like other women and girls. In fact, they're far more likely to be targets of harassment and violence. 

Most of the bigoted support of this petition is from people who have never knowingly interacted with trans women before. People who have never seen the girls around them blossom. I have. Many of us have. These girls deserve protection as much as any other girl.
