As a parent of a female athlete and former teacher of biology - there isn't a scientist out there who would say men and women are physically and physiologically equal. There are significant differences in bone mass, muscle mass, lung capacity, and more...all of which put women at a disadvantage when competing. Young girls in middle and high school also have the right to privacy when in spaces where they may be in a state of undress - places where they would feel vulnerable especially if biological males were present. This isn't just scare tactics or fear - Turn to the case in Loudon County Virginia where a boy claiming to be a girl assaulted girls in the girls bathrooms - we cannot be OK with this. This can't be the new normal for girls across the state. To support biological men in womens sports and womens spaces is to support the oppression of women. These proposed regulations would be a common-sense safeguard for our children. Please stand firm and protect the rights, privacy, and athletic opportunities of young women across Virginia.
