I am against the fee increases proposed for LPNs, RNs and APRNs. I understand that the DHP wants to provide pay increases for working personnel. However, there are some nurses out here that work for the Commonwealth and we are supplied with minimal pay. I understand that each locality that operates work within their guidelines of pay for their own personnel. I feel that this should be the same with the DHP. If we have to pay an increase in fees for licensure, then the license should remain active for a longer period of time. If nonprofit and state agencies cannot obtain any more funding to provide their health professionals raises and insurances do not provide significant enough payout, then focus should be on reimbursement from insurance to help compensate out. Then Healthcare professionals could have pay increases and the increase in license renewal would not be as big of an issue and it could possibly be a win-win for everyone involved.
