I disagree with this proposal. Our licensing fee is already higher than most States. As an APRN I am already forced to continue paying for both my RN and APRN licenses even when I am not working in an RN role. This alone is infuriating. Our salaries have not increased to outweigh inflation and you are planning to increase fees for the license that allows us to work these jobs. Without nurses hospitals would not run, doctors offices would not run, nursing homes and long term care facilities would not run, group homes would not run. Nurses are already over burdened with work, as the backbone of medical organizations/facilities and then you wonder why there is a nursing shortage. To add insult to injury, you want to increase the price of a license to do this daunting work. I have been in the nursing field for over 25 years starting as a CNA, RN, BSN, and MSN/APRN. I have seen the change in nursing from patient care focused to customer service and this is not right. You will continue to make it harder to find workers to fill the spots with increasing licensing fees. This is not the way.
