Alternative to generalized increase

After reading your proposal i feel like this increase is punitive to all the professional nurses that are abiding by the scope of practice set forth by the board instead of the the target audience you claim to need an increase for. If having to investigate nursing behavior is causing an increase in labor, why not just increase the fees for those people? I'm sure a lot of the cases you investigate are possibly related to unsafe practices of the facility as well as the nurse so you should penalize the facility for creating and environment that alludes to nursing malpractice or charge the disruptive nurse fines for the investigation. Not every nurse needs to be investigated so raising fees for everybody does not make sense. In addition, the board is supposed to be a service to the nurses so before increasing our fees the board needs to be transparent with us and show a breakdown of how funds are used. And lastly if the board wants a raise by way of nursing licensure fees, then shouldn't the nurses of Virginia be included in your performance evaluations? Are there any surveys that we could take to let you know how well you're doing and even if you deserve a raise? Cause that's the process we have to undergo for merit increases and they surely are not 5% every year.
