I am in full support of draft regulations as presented as they were developed with input from optometry and ophthalmology and should be supported as presented. Optometrists are educated, trained and certified to perform the procedures outlined in the regulations. Optometrists would never engage in any procedures to cause harm to a patient. Virginia has almost twice as many optometrists than ophthalmologists and it makes sense that more access to these procedures will save vision!
