I have been able to use Kratom to lessen a painful chronic medical condition without becoming addicted to opiates over 12 years. When I have a flare I can take a small amount of Kratom to reduce the pain without a high. I do not feel groggy the next day and have had no issues stopping Kratom as soon as my flare has lessened. My doctor knows I use Kratom and has no issues with it. I requests that the Board amend 18VAC110-20-322 to include mitragynine and 7-hydroxymytragynine, the active alkaloids found in kratom, in Schedule I
