I've been a long-time kratom user and it's wrong to criminalize kratom as a Schedule 1 substance. Many thousands of Americans use kratom responsibly for pain treatment or for well-being. Many Americans prefer kratom as a safer and natural alternative to prescription pain killers, which by the way are contributing to the opiate epidemic in the US. I personally know someone who used kratom to quit their heroin addiction.
