Three years ago on holiday, I broke my ankle. I had no pain killers available other than Advil and Kratom. I took a small amount of Kratom and was able to tolerate the pain overnight until a paramedic could get me to a hospital to have surgery. I know others with chronic back pain or even cancer who do not have access to pharmaceutical opioids, but CAN take Kratom to relieve their pain and can therefore have a much better quality of life. Please do not make Kratom illegal. It is a valuable botanical that can take the place of strong painkillers with much less danger of addiction than pharmaceuticals. Kratom users are generally people just like you and me who have injuries or chronic ailments and need alternatives to opioids.
